Reimagine. Transform. Collaborate.
Shaping the Future of Business
For decades, we've had the privilege of collaborating with brilliant minds—actuaries, clinicians, economists, farmers, researchers, scientists, and C-suite executives across too many industries to count. As management consultants, we've been there. We've navigated the complexities of organizational change, experienced the breaking-point pressure of delivering moonshot results, and we've bailed water faster than the sinking ship was taking on. We've pushed heavy audacious rocks up steep mountains, and we've celebrated many victories with our clients along the way.
But most importantly, the moments that defined us as consultants and brought us together as a LECA Collaborative were the lessons and value we learned in those moments of trust, collaboration, and the raw vulnerability of prioritizing and focusing on the solutions that matter most – bringing value to our customers, their organization, their staff and to society.
A turning point for us came when we dug deep into the world of regenerative farming. It was the aha moment that brought all our worlds together. By studying and understanding a regenerative agroforestry ecosystem – where a canopy, sub canopy, pollinators, composters, and nitrogen carriers create a thriving whole – we realized that this interconnectedness could be translated into a new approach to business transformation.
Moving beyond traditional transactional towards regenerative and evolved frameworks
With thousands of product launches and go-to-market strategies under our belt, and inspiration by nature under our wing, we continue to re-imagine and evolve how businesses operate. We help our customers move beyond traditional transactional models towards sustainable, regenerative, and ultimately, evolved frameworks and strategies. We’re motivated by increasing longevity, resiliency, and scalability while reducing waste and negative ecosystem impact for our customers. As visionaries, pioneers, change-agents and connectors, we’ve designed and developed a framework for change, from the transactional to the evolved business structure.
The Extractive Model
Think of the last time you filled a prescription, called your wi-fi provider, or upgraded your software. Were you frustrated, confused or overwhelmed? If so, it's not surprising, chances are you were experiencing a transactional business model—riddled with expendable commodities including you as a customer. Why? In this model, organizations build products and services around a “take, make, consume, waste” cycle. Decisions are often reactive, driven by immediate financial pressures rather than long-term strategic vision. Operations are siloed, with limited communication and collaboration across departments. Customer engagement is transactional, prioritizing immediate sales over building long-term value and relationships.
This approach often leads to a focus on cost-cutting measures, potentially at the expense of employee value and customer satisfaction. Leaders often use data as vanity metrics vs actionable metrics to prove points or optimize short-term gains, often neglecting the long-term consequences for the organization, its employees, it’s customers the local or global communities and environments impacted by their outputs.
The Sustainable Model
The Sustainable Model recognizes the limitations of the purely transactional approach and seeks to minimize its negative impacts. In this model, businesses strive to reduce their environmental footprint and comply with environmental regulations. They may implement initiatives such as recycling programs, energy efficiency measures, and responsible sourcing.
While the sustainable model represents an improvement over the transactional model, it primarily focuses on minimizing harm rather than actively creating positive change. It often still relies on a linear “take, make, consume, waste” approach to business with a few iterations to ensure compliance.
The Regenerative Model
The Regenerative Model takes a more proactive and holistic approach to business. It is inspired by the regenerative principles of nature, such as nutrient cycling, biodiversity, and symbiosis. In this model, organizations seek to restore and revitalize ecosystems, create positive social impact, and build long-term resilience.
Regenerative businesses prioritize circularity, minimizing waste and maximizing resource utilization. They not only invest in regenerative sourcing, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and carbon sequestration, but they also start to address regenerative practices across their staff, process, data and technology. By doing so, they enhance their ability to simplify as they scale. They work to restore not only biodiversity and protect natural habitats but also strong shared values collaboration. This leads to residual effects and prioritization across value streams such as master data management and simplified and scaled tech stacks that support a continuous renewal and growth across the end-to-end ecosystem. This model also prioritizes employee well-being, community engagement, and ethical business practices.
The Evolved Model
The Evolved Model represents the pinnacle of business evolution. It goes beyond sustainability and regeneration to create a truly transformative impact today and for generations to come. In this model, businesses are not just stewards of their environment, they also are active agents of change. They drive innovation and create a more equitable and evolved future for society.
Evolved businesses are characterized by their deep understanding and simplification of complex systems, their ability to collaborate effectively across systems, and their commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Through practices like circular economies, symbiotic values driven collaborations and continuous renewal, growth and simplification, they leverage technology and innovation to create new solutions and address global challenges. They prioritize well-being and social justice, recognizing that a healthy society is essential for a healthy planet.
